Once a year the entire statewide network of youth givers comes together for an unforgettable and one-of-a kind convening. Simply stated, the North Carolina Youth Giving Summit is unlike any other youth event throughout the SouthEast. One part youth leadership conference, one part dance club, and one part social networking frenzy, the Summit has become the flagship event of the NC Youth Giving Network. This past year, the 2011 North Carolina Youth Giving Summit was held in TWO locations to accommodate the expansive growth of the NC Youth Giving Network. The EAST Summit was held on Saturday, October 15th in Greenville and brought youth from Wake, Franklyn, Vance, Onslow, New Hanover, Robeson, and Pitt County together. The WEST Summit was held on Saturday, October 29th in Winston-Salem and brought youth from Forsyth, Guilford, Wilkes, Cherokee, Cleveland, Mecklenburg, and Jackson County together. Thanks especially to our great team of LTC staff and volunteers, as well as partners with NCGives, Starbucks, American Express, and the International Association of Teamwork Facilitators. The theme of the 2011 Summit was "The Poetry of Giving" as it showcased over 300 youth philanthropists from 25+ counties and how they transform NC communities through their beats, rhythm, rhymes, and stories of giving (hence the logo).
